So I am making a playlist for The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins...because I can. Haha. And I wanted to ask you if you know of any Hunger Games (think, wizard rock) songs that I should add to my list of things to find/download. In addition, if you have any songs that remind you of The Hunger Games or Catching Fire when you listen to them, I'd love for you to leave a comment with the song name and artist and tell me why it reminds you of the books. If you would like to send me a song that you have that your wrote/found on The Hunger Games series or just one that reminds you of it, feel free to attach it in an email: kayleyhyde@gmail.com (I would be very grateful if you did!)
Once I compile all of the songs, I'll put the playlist of songs on here so you can compile the songs, as well!
So far, I have...
Thanks guys! Are you as excited as I am for Mockingjay? :)

So far, I have...
- We're On Fire - Armoured Bearcub (aka my talented friends Lauren Fairweather and Matt Maggiacomo)
- Rue's Lullaby - mockingjaynet on YouTube
- Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) - Florence and the Machine (via my friend Leah on twitter).
Thanks guys! Are you as excited as I am for Mockingjay? :)

This is hard... The only thing I can think of is Get Out of This Town by Carrie Underwood. I always think about this when Katniss is asking Gale to just run away with her. Also Walk Through the Fire from the Buffy musical Joseph because it talks about walking into a situation seemingly alone but finding out everyone is behind you ready to help. Also, fire is mentioned lol. Hope this helps, I'll keep thinking :)
I know of 2 Hunger Games songs.
Forgotten and The Hunger Games (Tik Tok Parody) They're both links to YouTube videos. The first one is about the reaping, and the second is pretty much The Hunger Games in general. Hope this helps! :D
Nice! Thanks for pointing out those last two songs. As for non-nerdfighter music, I completely agree with one of your previous statements about the Torchwood theme being stuck in your head when reading the books.
I've perused my library and come up with a few songs of my own.
If you want more songs without words like the Torchwood theme song there is Tempered Steel and Vesuvius. Both symphonic and really cool.
I thought of "People Will Saw We're in Love" from Oklahoma for Katniss and Peeta. hehehe. Funny but maybe not entirely appropriate for the intensity of their situation.
Maybe if I was reading this book in the 80s "Through Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce would be appropriate. However, if I try and place events that happen in the book with that song I just imagine all the characters with big hair and crazy clothes and the Capitol people looking like the band members from Kiss. Lyrically, however it is quite fitting.
Perslaps some Evanesence... Going Under, Everybody's Fool comes to mind when thinking about Katniss's feelings toward the Capitol. Taking Over Me goes pretty well with the Peeta unrequited love stuff but maybe a bit cheesily so. Basically these and a few others are playing in my head like a movie montage. If only I had characters to play the parts... also money. I'm sad that Stephanie Meyer has kind of overused this band though. They don't really relate to her stories very well. Whateva...
And of course Mr Blue Sky.
...just kidding.
*Goes to make playlist*.
I'm rereading them right now and I just finished Hunger Games and there's a part where she talks about the dangers involved with eating raw rabbit meat and how you could catch rabbit fever. I wonder what happens if you get rabbit fever. A sudden intense craving for raw vegetables? Spontaneous and unexplained hopping? And of course cuteness. Rabbit fever doesn't sound that bad...
: ) Sorry for the epically long comment.
Also, Take a Bow by Muse is practically begging to be added here so there!
I found this girls blog post a few weeks ago and it's got a playlist that she's compiled of songs that relate to the Hunger Games...

Some really great songs in there! She's even put in quotes from the book (s) that go with the songs! You should check it out :)
YES SO EXCITED!!
Let us know once you have your definitive playlist <3
Jason Mraz - If it Kills Me (Casa Nova Sessions)
Gale's song to Katniss as she leaves for the arena. I adore that song so much!
I can't wait for Mockingjay's release! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who has a Hunger Games playlist. :]
Wine Red by the Hush Sound
Long Shot by Kelly Clarkson
Crossfire by Brandon Flowers
Maybe "The Call" by Regina Spektor? I love (love love love) her.
1.Uprising by Muse, i swear this song was made for the Hunger Games!
2.When You Were Young by The Killers. This song makes sense to me because Katniss is always going back to when she was younger with her father and simple life was for her.
