The Hunger Games playlist

So I am making a playlist for The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins...because I can. Haha. And I wanted to ask you if you know of any Hunger Games (think, wizard rock) songs that I should add to my list of things to find/download. In addition, if you have any songs that remind you of The Hunger Games or Catching Fire when you listen to them, I'd love for you to leave a comment with the song name and artist and tell me why it reminds you of the books.
If you would like to send me a song that you have that your wrote/found on The Hunger Games series or just one that reminds you of it, feel free to attach it in an email: kayleyhyde@gmail.com (I would be very grateful if you did!)
Once I compile all of the songs, I'll put the playlist of songs on here so you can compile the songs, as well!
So far, I have...
  • We're On Fire - Armoured Bearcub (aka my talented friends Lauren Fairweather and Matt Maggiacomo)
  • Rue's Lullaby - mockingjaynet on YouTube
  • Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) - Florence and the Machine (via my friend Leah on twitter).

Thanks guys! Are you as excited as I am for Mockingjay? :)

blog sale?

So a lot of beauty gurus or bloggers tend to do blog sales where they sell things like make-up, clothes or jewelery. I have been considering going one of these for awhile and wanted to know if you'd be interested? There would be a small shipping charge, I could ship internationally (for a little more) and it'd be done through paypal. But basically I would post pictures (or a video) of clothes and jewelery that I no longer want/need and put a price and the first person who says they want it would get it. Prices would be relatively low, so don't worry about that. I just think it'd be a nice way to do some cleaning of my room before uni, get a little money for California and give you guys a shot at it before I donate it or something (Plato's Closet sucks, haha). Let me know if you'd be interested and if so, I'll get that ball rolling. Hope your summers are going well! :) x

I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of these kind of nights this summer.

Sooo...

I just watched my first Shane Dawson video...and probably my last. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but I just lose a lot of respect for people who name their videos with words like "pussy" in the title to get hits. When you have over 100k subscribers on your side channels, is that really necessary? Not implying that it ever is, but you know what I mean, LOL. Also, I just don't understand the attraction. But then again, I don't understand the draw to most of those MEGAFAMOUSYOUTUBERS, haha. xD

EDIT: Tanna, while I respect your opinion, I think that you are a little misguided as to how the internet/youtube works, haha. I say suggestive things to and I when I am around friends and family, I have a...wider vocabulary, haha. I just don't broadcast it because a lot of younger people watch my videos. But just because Shane is that type of person, that it no reason that he needs to put words like that in his TAGS and title of his videos. He only days that so that people will be more likely to find the video. It's like, if I made a video talking about how I have a new baby cousin or something, very innocently, and then put words like "sex!" in the title and tags, it would be entirely unnecessary. As I said before, I'm sure he's a funny guy but he has three youtube channels, one being him talking into his cell phone (that's hardly a creative outlet when he has two other channels)...You wouldn't broadcast a video basically every day from three different channels unless you wanted to get all the views and make all the money you can. And good for him, if I could make a living off of youtube, I'd probably feel pretty good about myself. But I would never go about it by tricking people into watching my videos by putting irrelevant, "popular" words in the tags/title.

This isn't for the haters

The internet is awesome. It really is. But at the same time, there are moments where I was to just delete everything just to get people to stfu. This is a blog regarding fiveawesomegirls. If you don't know what that is, here is a link to a channel I have participated on since the beginning of 2008. Basically, we make videos on our assigned days every single week. You many no realise this, but that's a lot of time to invest in a project. Fiveawesomegirls is like a never ending group project, except without all of the annoying parts like when your partner decides to change the entire premise of the project the day before it's due so that it no longer makes sense---I'm changing courses. Another issue for another blog. Anyway. Focus. So this channel get s lot of traffic because we're five, not ugly, young girls with tens of thousands of subscribers. Some have been around since week one, while others are just discovering us as I type. This blog is not directed at the haters who randomly come by and don't like how I decided to style my hair today. No, this is more dedicated to those people who start their comments with "I have been a huge fan of you girls for a long time, but..."
It is the beginning of June and we all have about twenty other things that we need to do that making videos sometimes interferes with. We are graduating college and high school, taking finals and touring the country. And to receive comments starting with the aforementioned statement and ending with something along the lines of "...but you guys don't seem as into this as you use to." Or comments telling us that when we make a less-than-amazing video that is isn't as good as normal. All I want to do is grab those commenters by the shoulders, shake them and tell them to take a shot at what we have to juggle every single week. I don't speak for all the girls, since I have not talked to the other girls about this recently, but oh my god, I am not a machine. I make videos acting happy and I'm fake, I make a video about a bad day (like this past Wednesday) and I am negative and boring. I don't know what people expect, but I just want to see other people try to juggle a very demanding show, graduating high school, a boyfriend, a family, grad parties, college preparation and making videos and then see how they feel when someone tells you that you aren't as "into this" as you use to be.
I live in my parents house. My room is full of childhood relics. I own way too many books and have money managing issues from time to time. I am a human being with things to do, places to be and people to see. I am not a professional video maker and I don't make videos for other people. I make them for me and I am honest in every single one of them. If you want someone who is always perfect and can consistently impress you with everything they put out, then good riddance. There are plenty of people on the internet who would be happy for your support. If you like a little bit of everything, including highs and lows, then stick around. I love what I do and like sharing my life with people who care. Fiveawesomegirls is a fantastic platform and we really have fun with it, but you gotta stick with us because we adore being there for one another and sharing our lives with you, but things get in the way from times to time. Same goes for me on my other various channels. Other things go first, just know that we aren't going anywhere. At least through the year, we're here (no matter how many times we regret every doing this as we're editing videos into the night xD).
This blog was all over the place, BUT I AIN'T FIXIN' IT. Goodnight.
