It's amazing how the simplest of things can bring back such vivid memories. The sun pouring through a window, leaving a ray across a pillow, bed or even a floor. It is rare that I will compare myself to an animal that I am not only allergic to, but find repellent in many other ways, but I am like a cat when it comes to the sun. Since I was a child, I would find myself getting overwhelmingly thrilled when the sun would burn into a room at just the right angle, leaving a Kayley-shaped ray for my to lay out in. It didn't matter is it was on the kitchen tiles, across a couch or even beneath the skylight in my bathroom. I would lay beside that tub blissfully. No matter my age, this has essentially remained the same.
I feel like I only return to this space, this blog, in more melancholy moods. I swear this is not intentional, but I suppose it's like any journal or often other forms of art in that it's easier to create when there are more feelings there to express. Old habits are creeping back and coupled with illness and homesickness, it's been a rough week. But the sun has been on and off over the week and it's warmth is reassuring in more ways than one. As for now, back to researching the impact of the recession on the media and if I finish by 4pm, I'm allowing myself to go see We Bought a Zoo. I'm quite excited. x
I'm waking up to see the sun / it's a light that lets me know, a new day's begun.
I can leave behind / the terrors of my unconscious mind, into the sunshine.

this was brilliantly encouraging on a day when that is quite welcome
I always find it amazing how one's melancholy and contemplative moods result in a blog post or some kind of outpouring of creativity, yet I would never know how to encompass happiness in a blog post or any other form for that matter? Strange.....
